Bethlehem Burners Sponsors Hot Shotz Contest Vol. 2 at Musikfest

Bethlehem Burners is proud to announce, for the second year in a row, their sponsorship of the Hot Shotz Contest Volume 2 at the 2018 Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. As part of the sponsorship, Bethlehem Burners is providing Bravo torches for contestants to use during the contest, and contributing a Sharp Flame hand torch in one of the prize packages provided for the competition.

The Hot Shotz Competition

During the Hot Shotz competition, artists will work two at a time during an assigned three-hour time slot. This competition is not head-to-head. Borosilicate glass will be provided to each artist to create a shot glass that will be judged against the other works of art created during the competition. No additional materials or premade glass can be used.

Contestants are permitted to use their own hand tools but must use the torches provided. Fuming and gold/silver leaf is permitted.

The following competition slots are available (total of 18):
– August 3 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm
– August 4, 5, 10 and 11 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm and 5:00pm – 8:00pm

Competition Voting

Voting for the Hot Shotz Competition will take place from August 12 through August 22 via Facebook. The judges will only vote on complete and intact pieces. The winners will be announced on Friday, August 24.

Competition Prizes

Two prize packages will be awarded: one for Judge’s Choice and one for Popular Vote (the same artist cannot win both prizes). The Judge’s Choice winner will have the first choice of prize package. See the prize packages at the Banana Factory’s website.
