Bethlehem Burners will donate torches for classes at Glass Stock West, an educational glass art event, from August 31 to September 4 at Cornerstone Glass in Eugene, Oregon.
Founded in 2003 by Deb Crowley, Glass Stock brings glass artists together to learn from the world’s top flame workers through demonstrations and hands-on classes. These classes allow participants to learn new flameworking skills, gain priceless feedback, and develop new inspiration.
“Bethlehem Burners is honored to work with Deb Crowley and Glass Stock for the second year in a row!” said Kate Hayes, president at Bethlehem Burners. “We look forward to continue this partnership for many years to come!”
Bethlehem Burners will provide sixteen Bravo torches to be used in the fifty classes offered at this year’s Glass Stock. The Bravo, a low-pressure, stainless steel lampworking torch, was designed specifically with the needs of the artistic flameworker in mind. It is a dual-purpose torch, that works easily with both soft and borosilicate glass. The classes will be held on September 1-4 and will include lessons on flameworking, fusing, sandblasting, coldworking, wire-wrapping and bead working.
Glass Stock also offers the opportunity for participants to meet and greet with the staff and featured artists, including soft glass artists Amy Waldman and Janice Peacock. The event will also feature open torch sessions, contests, and evening festivities!
